experience, which gives her a deep understanding of

how difficult it can be to be told everything looks “normal”, while you’re still searching for answers.

She is passionate about helping clients identify and address the hidden root causes that can impact their health, so they can move forward with a clear plan.

Sarah says:

Hi – I’m Sarah, a Registered Nutritional Therapist and member of the Institute of Functional Medicine, with a specialist interest in supporting individuals and couples on their fertility journey.

My passion for this work is deeply personal, having experienced my own fertility challenges. After the birth of our daughter, my husband and I had difficulties conceiving again. After 12 months of trying to conceive, we visited the GP.

Following several standard tests and examinations that came back within the normal ranges, no identifiable cause for the infertility was found, and we were diagnosed with ‘unexplained secondary infertility’ and referred to an IVF clinic. Seven heart-breaking years followed, including a miscarriage and unsuccessful rounds of IVF.

Having exhausted the conventional medical route and still no answers for any potential causes or abnormalities for our infertility, I turned to functional medicine.

Through comprehensive functional testing, we finally uncovered the personal underlying factors that were affecting our ability to conceive and sustain a healthy pregnancy.

My husband and I committed to a period of intentional preconception care – making targeted dietary and lifestyle changes, alongside personalised supplementation. Within just two months, I conceived naturally and went on to have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.

This was a life changing moment for me.

I realised there was sadly a huge gap between what conventional medicine offers in terms of infertility support (e.g. routine fertility checks) and the power of looking at fertility challenges through the lens of functional medicine, which focuses on identifying and addressing the hidden root causes contributing to the inability to conceive or maintain a healthy pregnancy.

Experiencing the joy of having my second child, after so many years of heartache and frustration, having been told that assisted fertility was the only remaining solution, shaped not only my personal life, but the work I feel called to do.

Fuelled with a passion to make a difference, I left my career in teaching and retrained as a Nutritional Therapist and became a member of the Institute of Functional Medicine with one mission in mind: to support others who find themselves feeling alone, navigating fertility challenges on their journey to parenthood and potentially preventing months / years of unnecessary fertility frustration.

I am dedicated to helping others feel informed, supported, and empowered in their own fertility journey, helping them take back control of their health and giving them the best possible chance of conceiving and having a healthy baby.

My work and how I live my life are rooted in my passion that food and lifestyle can be powerful medicine and have life-changing consequences.

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my precious family, walking in nature, trying out new recipes, travelling whenever I can, or getting lost in a good book.

To your optimised, healthy future,
